Drawing is the first step in a journey of amazing experiences.
Making art a part of one's routine develops neural systems that improve motor skills, creativity and emotional balance. There have been many studies about the benefits of engaging in art.
“The arts enhance the process of learning. The systems they nourish, which include our integrated sensory, attentional, cognitive, emotional, and motor capacities, are, in fact, the driving forces behind all other learning” (Jensen, 2001).
Students who regularly practice art have improved self-esteem, self-expression, empathy, creative problem solving and appreciation of diversity.
In a time where the educational system is focused on standardized testing to the exclusion of creative skills, supplemental activities that inspire change, growth and dreaming of a better world are needed.
Whether you want to find a job in illustration, storyboarding, studio art or design, or are looking to be an independent artist selling your art, printed and/or digital comics, merchandise and developing your brand and online presence, we hope to provide the fundamentals and practical knowledge you need to get started.
